“28 minuts” is an ephemeral project that is part of the international festival "A Cel Obert", organized by Tortosa City Council. The subject matter of this year is “time”.
Placed at the cloister of the regional archives of Baix Ebre, the project maintains a delicate and respectful dialogue with the existing Renaissance courtyard as it gives the impression of it hanging in suspension and occupying the central space. The project, consisting of several interlaced threads, recalls a giant sand clock. The threads, gold-coloured like the sand or the rays of the sunlight, guide the light and the sun reflections during the different sunlight phases which are then trapped in the spiderweb.
"28 minuts", key component of the project, is the vortex created by 300 threads tied to two circles inscribed into the intermediate level of the courtyard. This passage allows to fold the space to make it pass through the central oculus. Time, even if unstoppable, is drawn by the acceleration of the hole of the oculus, which dilates like our pupils when our eyes are fixed between the earth and the sky.
The only material that was used for the temporary installation was a 1 mm nylon thread known as "cola de ratón" (mouse tail). It was required 5.535 metres of this golden nylon thread, 2.427 knots, immeasurable patience and... time.

La instalación "28 minuts" se enmarca dentro del festival de intervenciones efímeras A Cel Obert organizado por el ayuntamiento de Tortosa, cuya temática de esta tercera edición es “el tiempo”.
Ubicada en el claustro del archivo comarcal del Baix Ebre, la intervención establece un diálogo sutil y respetuoso con el patio renacentista ocupando el vacío central a través de unos hilos entrelazados que evocan la figura de un reloj de arena. Los hilos, dorados como los granos de arena o los rayos del sol, conducen la luz y sus reflejos durante las transiciones del día, quedando atrapados en la telaraña.
28 minutos, clave de la figura, es el vórtice generado por la traslación de 300 hilos conectados a dos círculos inscritos en los niveles intermedios del patio. Esta traslación permite doblar el espacio para hacerlo pasar, sin cerrarse, a través del óculo central. El tiempo, aunque imposible de detener, es atraído por la aceleración del agujero del óculo, dilatándose, como nuestra mirada, entre el cielo y la tierra.
Para realizar la instalación se ha empleado, como material único, un hilo de nylon conocido como “cola de ratón” de 1mm de espesor y de color amarillo. Han hecho falta 5.535 metros, 2.427 nudos, mucha paciencia y... tiempo.
